Hi Everybody! Things in Murphy are happening. Attached is a link to the chamber's list of events for the next few weeks so you don't have to look far to find something to do while you're here. There is also a new sports bar and restaurant opening soon in downtown Murphy that should be lots of fun.  We have begun bath house construction. Once this is complete, we will be able to hook up the pump and test the waterfall. As long as everything is working properly, the completion of this spectacular water garden area will move along quickly. I can not wait to use the pool this summer.......I might have to move my office out to a lounger around the pool!

 The mountain laurel is in full bloom here in the mountains. It is amazing to see all of the diffrent flowers pop up everywhere. It is just beautiful.

 We are making head way with the Grand Vista Green Model Home. We had another delivery from Katahdin yesterday and are now in the process of building the top floor. We will also have the waterfall running this week at the pool- check back later for pictures and updates.

 The Waterfall at the Grand Vista pool is in its last stage of constuction. It will end up being 30 feet tall and has been amazing to watch the construction unfold. Check back next week for another waterfall update.

 This is very exciting! We have started Cherokee county's 1st green home. It is located on Lot 30 in Grand Vista.It is a Katahdin Cedar Log Home, which is the only log home company in the United States with the FSC green certification. We have decided to certify it 'green' with the North Carolina Healthy Built program. Cherokee Mountain Construction is contracted to build & they have hit the ground running.  Grand Vista's Winter Updates
Everyone has been busy bees here at Grand Vista. We are currently working on the spectacular pool. The concrete was poured over the weekend. It is coming along beautifully and quickly too! I know that it will be put to good use this coming Spring and Summer.

We have a new doctor's office that opened less than 3 miles from Grand Vista!
Dr. Emily Armstrong graduated from Murphy Highschool in 1976 and proudly calls this area home. She attended Duke University's Medical School and did her residency in Charleston, SC in family medicine. She has spent the last 20 years in the Charleston area where she practiced family medicine and served as an emergency room physician.
She has moved back to Murphy and opened the Hida clinic. It is a fully stocked clinic where she can do labs, EKGs, basci and sick visits, gyn exams amd more. She can handle most minor emergencies. She see patients of all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics.
We are happy to have her and her office in our area.
